In this purpose, two original aspects will be approached: (i) the relationship MA’d fraction‑SIM monovariant domain size and (ii) the interaction between PM-MA’d Fe-Mn-Si-Cr-Ni SMAs grain size/ porosity and SIM reversion to austenite. The combination of two well-known processing techniques – PM and MA – with common treatment techniques for Fe-Mn-Si-Cr-Ni SMAs – hot rolling, heat treatment, pre-straining – is meant to develop a novel manufacturing procedure for training-free Fe–Mn–Si base SMAs with improved recovery stress, prone for further extension of the applications of these alloys in other engineering areas.
